Located four miles northwest of Wilmington, Montchanin Village is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and lies within an area where American history, culture, and museums abound. In 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt arrived by rail to Montchanin for the wedding of his son Franklin Roosevelt, Jr. to Ethel DuPont. The Village consists of 11 carefully restored buildings whose construction dates back between 1799 and 1910. The Inn opened in June 1996 and houses 28 guestrooms and suites, which are richly furnished with period furniture, marble baths, and modern amenities. Guests may enjoy a scenic walk down Privy Lane to savor the uniqueness of this historic property and private gardens.
