OHEKA CASTLE regally stands on a manicured estate in the heart of Long Island. Built by financier and philanthropist Otto Hermann Kahn in 1919, The New York Times declared it, “the finest country house in America.” The chateau remains the second-largest private residence ever built in the United States of America. During the Gilded Age of the 1920s, the estate entertained Hollywood luminaries, esteemed heads of state, and distinguished royalty. Eventually repurposed and abandoned, developer Gary Melius began a careful and painstaking restoration of the castle in 1984, bringing OHEKA CASTLE back to its original grandeur. A royal experience, guests are welcomed to this premier historic hotel with charming European luxury and hospitality.
