Built in 1928 by Alex Johnson, vice president of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, who dreamed of building a tribute to the Native Americans and the breathtaking Black Hills of South Dakota. The building blends the spirit of the Plains Indians with Germanic Tudor architecture, representing the German immigration to the region.
