Originally built in 1919 by Frederick William Vanderbilt, the historic Grand Dame hotel was once the social epicenter of San Juan, and was meticulously restored and reopened in December 2014. Designed by the firm Warren and Wetmore, whose work includes the New York Biltmore Hotel and Grand Central Station, the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel was once a destination for royalty, heads of state, and Hollywood stars. In October 2012, the hotel began attracting gourmands with the 1919 Restaurant, lobby bar, and banquet services. The final renovation phase has returned the Vanderbilt to the Roaring 20s style, sophistication, and service for which the hotel was known. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, the hotel offers the perfect city stay on the beach.
Experience the Jaime Benítez National Park, Sitio Histórico de San Juan, La Placita, and the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico within minutes of the hotel.
